Turku is Finland’s oldest city and an important commercial centre. It was the ‘unofficial’ capital of the country before Helsinki. Turku is a cultural city and a key centre for manufacturing and the maritime industry. Turku aims to be carbon neutral by 2029. Many EU projects are attempting to promote the same goal.

Urban Tech

Turku Science Park osallistuu Urban Tech -hankkeessa innovatiivisten ratkaisujen kehittämiseen terveydenhuoltoon, vihreään teknologiaan ja älykkäisiin kaupunkiratkaisuihin liittyviin haasteisiin. Hanke keskittyy pk-yrityksiin.

Response - Integrated solutions for positive energy and resilient cities

Turku on mukana Response-hankkeessa luomassa ja toteuttamassa energiapositiivisia kortteleita ja kaupunginosia. Pilottialueena toimii Turun ylioppilaskylä.

Ferry Port Turku

Ferry Port Turku -hankkeessa suunnitellaan Turun sataman infrastruktuurin parantamista, ja sitä rahoitetaan EU:n CEF Transport -ohjelmasta.
