Attica is one of the thirteen (13) administrative regions of Greece. It consists of eight regional units (RUs), four of which make up the capital (Central, North, West and South Athens). The other four are Piraeus, Islands, East Attica and West Attica. Attica generates 48% of the total national GDP and total gross value added (GVA). For the period 2021-2027, total public funding of EUR 1 616 995 496 has been channelled into the Regional Operational Programme for Attica, with an EU contribution of EUR 808 497 748.
