The Prešov Region is situated in northeast Slovakia, adjacent to the Košice, Žilina and Banska Bystrica regions. It borders Poland to the north and Ukraine to the east. It is the second largest Slovak region and the first in terms of number of inhabitants, but its population density is second to last. The region is less economically developed and is fighting long-term unemployment. The protected areas of the High Tatras and the Pieniny create ideal conditions for the development of tourism, especially as the region has a unique cultural and historical tradition. However, the mountainous nature of the region puts it at a disadvantage in terms of both international and national connections.

Care facility and daily stationary in Snina

The main objective of the project Nursing home and day care centre in Snina is the reconstruction of an unused building in order to provide community care through a nursing home and day care centre. The project will also increase the energy efficiency of the building.

Low-carbon strategy of the Prešov Self-Governing Region

The aim of the project Low-carbon strategy of the Prešov Self-Governing Region is the development of a low-carbon strategy for the Prešov Self-Governing Region, including the promotion of sustainable multi-modal urban mobility and adaptation measures aimed at mitigating climate change. 

Development of road infrastructure between Snina, Medzilaborce and Krosno

The purpose of the project Development of road infrastructure between Snina, Medzilaborce and Krosno is to eliminate the adverse civil engineering conditions of the road and the drainage system from the roads II/567 and II/575. The remaining construction works consist of stabilisation of local landslides, remediation of damaged culverts, drainage of water and expanding of the road structure on its branches, including restoration and replacement of barriers.
