Lanscaping of the central pedestrian area of the tourist resort Horezu, Valcea county
The town of Horezu has harnessed EU funds in order to attract more tourists and preserve its historical heritage through the development of its central pedestrian area (RON 4.61 million) and of ‘Constantin Brâncoveanu’ park (RON 7.93 million), the expansion and modernisation of the public lighting system (RON 8.04 million) and the restoration and reinforcement of Hurezi Monastery (RON 8.20 million).

From Nano to Macro in Hydrogen Energy – Extension National Hydrogen Center and Fuel Cells – HyRo 2.0
Under the project ‘From nano to macro in hydrogen energy – Extension of the National Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Centre – HyRo 2.0’, the National Research and Development Institute for Cryogenic and Isotopic Technologies (ICSI) in Râmnicu Vâlcea has received EU funding of RON 26.13 million to enlarge and modernise its National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Centre and equip its laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and instruments.

The town of Brezoi has channelled EU funding into a project to improve its educational infrastructure and renovate urban areas (RON 14.87 million), and into another urban mobility project for the purchase of hybrid buses, the construction of a bus station and the development of a cycle route (RON 12.94 million).

The EU is financing projects to conserve biodiversity, and manage and protect nature areas in Cozia National Park (RON 22.58 million) and its protected Natura 2000 sites at Cozia and Buila Vânturarița (RON 6.9 million). EU funding has also been granted for the development of the Costești Trovants Museum nature reserve.
Modernization of Unirii Park in Băile Olănești resort
The 1.2 hectare Unirii Park at the Băile Olănești resort has been completely refurbished and modernised with an EU contribution of RON 5.69 million.
Extension, endowment and modernisation of the Integrated Outpatient Hospital of Horezu, Valcea County
The integrated in-patients department at Horezu Municipal Hospital has been enlarged, modernised and fitted out with modern equipment with the aid of EU funding (RON 7.42 million).
