Telšiai County is the smallest of ​​10 Lithuanian counties in terms of area. It consists of Plungė, Telšiai, Rietavas and Mažeikiai municipalities and is located in the north-west of Lithuania near the border with Latvia. The region is rich in historical and natural sites. Textile, art and furniture production are in expansion, while the food processing and oil refining industries dominate the economy. Thanks to the Mažeikiai oil refinery, the county is taking on an important role in the country’s export sector. In 2020, the region’s GDP amounted to EUR 1.6 billion, and accounted for 3.3 % of the total national GDP.

Better quality and accessibility of children health care services in Telšiai Hospital

A children’s ward at Telšiai Hospital has been brought up to modern standards: the premises were renovated and new medical and other equipment were purchased. The project aims to provide quality and accessible healthcare services for children and to create a pleasant and safe environment for young patients.

Creation of urban public spaces in Rietavas

In Rietavas, the city’s public space and public infrastructure were modernised. The project created a decent and high-quality living environment for the population. The improved public space helps to create a better quality of life for residents, better conditions for business development and for attracting investment.

Construction of Telšiai sludge treatment plant

Telšių vandenys UAB has built a sewage sludge treatment plant to process sewage sludge from the wastewater treatment plants in Telšiai, Plungė and Rietavas. The sludge treatment process produces biogas, which is burned to generate heat and electricity. Following the implementation of this project, sewage sludge is managed in a way that reduces environmental pollution and fulfils environmental protection requirements.

Modernisation of the buildings of Mazeikiai Polytechnic School

The project to modernise the buildings of the Mažeikiai Polytechnic School aims to provide a comfortable environment for the school community and to increase the energy efficiency of the buildings, which will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases (CO2). The project includes the insulation of the walls and roof, the replacement of windows and doors, and the upgrading of heating, hot water systems and lighting.

Reconstruction of Mykolas Oginskis Palace

The project to reconstruct the M. Oginskis Manor House in Plungė has facilitated the adaptation of this national heritage site for tourism purposes. The restoration of the manor buildings and the renovation of the surrounding park took place in several phases. The last phase aimed at creating higher-quality cultural services through construction and heritage conservation works, and the acquisition of equipment and furniture.
