Frosinone, the most southerly province of Lazio, also has one of the longest histories of human habitation, the first settlements dating back one million years. Today its economy depends on farming and an industrial sector consisting of mainly small businesses, apart from the Anagni chemical and pharmaceutical complex and the Cassino engineering plants, which are both of national significance. It also has a thriving services sector, especially in the Ciociaria area, whose cultural heritage and wildlife attract many visitors.

In Alvito, a social enterprise and a local action group have joined forces and, with the help of two different EU funds, carried out a project to assimilate migrants through vocational training in a deprived rural area at risk of depopulation.

Programme Agreement - Relaunch and industrial development for Frosinone, Anagni and Fiuggi

EU funds have made a major contribution to the local economy under an industrial recovery and growth package for areas affected by the employment crisis that hit Frosinone, Anagni and Fiuggi. Under this package, both regional funds and funds co-financed by the EU came together to tackle crises in the province of Frosinone.

Strengthening of the oncological emergency network of the Santissima Trinità hospital in Sora

Under the national recovery and resilience plan (Next Generation EU), the Santissima Trinità di Sora Hospital is set to receive EUR 4.7 million in funding to expand its oncology emergency network and carry out the works needed to adapt to fire regulations, helping it make a big step forwards in terms of capacity and safety.

Restoration of the efficiency of the bed of the river Cosa in the final stretch, in the municipalities of Frosinone and Ceccano

Management of the Cosa and Sacco rivers, as well as water engineering works in the area between the Ceccano and Frosinone municipalities, were co-financed using EU funds, enabling the development of natural disaster management systems in biodiversity-rich areas.

Green energy for the Headquarters municipal offices of Frosinone

Almost half the EUR 564 000 needed for energy upgrades to the Frosinone town hall has been put up by the EU. The works involved, for example, the installation of a photovoltaic system and a mechanism for its remote monitoring.
