Rovaniemi is the regional capital of Lapland and the largest city in Europe by surface area. By population, however, it is only the 16th largest in Finland. Most people in Rovaniemi now work in service professions, but there are also some well-known industrial companies in the city, such as Lappset, which makes playground equipment, and Marttiini, which makes hunting knives. The Santa Claus Village is also located in Rovaniemi, and Rovaniemi airport is the third busiest in Finland.
