Cádiz province, with its 285 km of coastline stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean sea straddling Gibraltar, lies in the southernmost part of Andalusia. Andalusia’s third province in terms of population, it has a population density of 167.5 inhabitants per km2, almost twice the Spanish national average, and is a hub for tourism and port activities. The port of Algeciras, alongside that of Valencia, is one of the most important in Spain, and is among the European ports boasting the greatest traffic of goods.
