The town of Grevena is built at 534 m above sea level, to the east of Northern Pindos, on the banks of River Grevenitis, a tributary of River Aliakmonas. The area is home to many archaeological discoveries and monuments. Characteristic features of the Regional Unit include its traditional villages, stone bridges, old churches, the ‘Valia-Kalda’ Pindos National Park, and the national ski resort of Vasilitsa. A great number of wild mushroom species grow in the area.

Development and promotion of cultural touristic destinations through multimedia tools

The "IT CULTURE" project aims to highlight and enhance the cultural heritage of the region and "grab" the attention of the tourist public.

Fire Service Equipment

Replenishment and modernisation of firefighting equipment for the Region of West Macedonia. The upgrade makes prevention operations possible and improves the capacity to suppress forest fires and other types of fire, to provide assistance and to carry out rescue operations when natural or technological disasters occur.
