In terms of population, Central Denmark is the country’s second-largest region. It accounts for one third of farmland in Denmark, as well as one third of the country’s livestock production, while investment in the arts in recent years has helped turn Central Denmark into a cultural powerhouse not only in Denmark itself but also much further afield. Having many low-lying areas and a long coastline, the region is particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change. In fact, climate and the environment form one of the main areas covered by the region’s EU projects.
